11.1.11

Dengan Nama Allah Yang Maha Pemurah Lagi Maha Penyayang

Actually this story has expired but I would like to story because of this issues should be awareness for students in Malaysia. On 11 January 2011 (11.1.11) I have attend Perhimpunan Mahasiswa Negara (PMN) at KL Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH). On this date (11.1.11) maybe it's normal for some people but for undergraduates who are attend PMN is a great time to start to fight for student issues.

The objectives :
  1. unite from public and private university and colleges
  2. a platform to share and discuss student issues openly so that students do not feel alone in their struggle
  3. establish new networks for collaboration and cooperation on campus level and national level to reach STUDENT UNITY
On that day, there were three sessions :
  1. Popular Assembly - stand up and speak up! every student gets a quick turn to share or vent about their student problems in this fast-paced, democratic and sharing session.
  2. Participatory Workshop - where the studengt come from? Find out in this group workshop by identifying root causes and mapping out the biggest pictures.
  3. Student's Parliament - You’ve seen the bigger picture. Now pitch your group’s proposal to the students’ parliament where every student has the power to decide whether to pass it or trash it, in true parliamentary style.
In group workshop, there was divided to four topic to find out the root causes and how to solve it. The topic that they discuss in student's parliament is the topic from the wokshop.
  1. Student Welfare
  2. Educatian Quality
  3. Laws, Politics and Campus Regulations
  4. Personal Attitude
From the student's parliament, the three proposals agreed by the students on that day.
  1. Discussed about to make a cooperative student (Koperasi Mahasiswa)
  2. Discussed about student unity
  3. Discussed about next PMN will be held on weekends
So, I hope that all students in Malaysia would be aware of the rights of students who have been denied for so long with the law in which the students can not speak freely.
